Black Box Corporation Inside Plant (ISP) Engineer in Kuwait
Black Box Network Services Federal division is a premier provider of Voice, Data, Transport, and Cabling infrastructure services and products to the Federal Government and the supporting organizations.
Black Box is currently seeking an Inside Plant (ISP) Engineer who will be responsible for the survey, design and construction of structured cabling, power systems and HVAC for telecommunications construction projects in Southwest Asia. Responsibility may include simultaneous design and oversight of multiple projects. The ISP Engineer will work closely with the Project Managers and other Systems Engineers, schedule major constructions tasks and ensure continuity of job progress while maximizing efficiencies.
Provides support for the Customers’ electronics, civil, structural, and electrical engineering requirements as necessary.
Support a range of telecommunications projects by reviewing hardware designs; work with internal and external cross-functional teams to define design specification and validation requirements for structured cabling design, power (AC and DC) systems design and, cooling and HVAC requirements.
Develop plans, records, specifications, and inspection reports to ensure installations are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice as well as all local, state and federal policies and regulations.
Perform site surveys and prepare site survey reports related to cabling and power and HVAC systems.
Engage in resolution of equipment, operational, and technical problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed analysis of computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects of a project.
Provide design, documentation and operational support of telecom circuits including DSL, Cable, MPLS, T1, PRI, DS3,GigE and fiber optic infrastructure
Responsible for project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.
Perform power system design and analyses
Uses tools and related test equipment, ground power equipment, and pressure equipment.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, Telecommunications or related field
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required.
In lieu of a degree, six (6) years’ directly related experience will be considered.
The ability to pass a background check and obtain a DoD security clearance is required.
Must be a US citizen.
Fostering of excellent relations with the Customer and the Team on behalf of Black Box.
Ability to follow established guidelines set forth by the Customer, Black Box, and the supervisor for conduct and work performance.
Capable of working effectively with co-workers and fulfill customer requests.
Has strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite experience
Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work may be required.
Ability to concisely and effectively communicate and present complex technical information to a varied audience, including technical and non-technical customer representatives.
Must be a US Citizen with an ability to obtain a security clearance
