Vectrus FITNESS CENTER LD CROSS FIT 1 in Kuwait
Under the direction of the MWR Recreation Supervisor, the Fitness Center Lead CrossFit Level 1 provides leadership amongst the fitness center staff. Ensures daily operations are performed as per established polices & practices.Oversee and instruct basic Crossfit techniques and other courses of instruction, to include but not limited to, functional fitness, aerobics, yoga, weight training, general fitness and special events offered to the Sports and Outdoor Recreation community.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1.Monitors the Crossfit facility, assist patrons, and plan and execute crossfit competitions.
2.Teach correct Crossfit information, methods and techniques.
3.Plan classes and courses of instruction around the skill levels of the participants.
4.Insure that equipment and modalities are in proper working order.
5.Notify supervisor and/or maintenance technicians if repairs are needed or if equipment needs to be replaced.
6.Lead classes in exercises and/or instruct personal training clients.
7.Monitors the well-being and overall safety of all participants.
8.Encourage participation and healthy choices.
9.Enforce all fitness facility policies, rules and regulations.
10.Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
11.Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level giving the appearance of being a patron of the product.
12.Complete records and reports as needed to include POIs and AARs.
13.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
14.Performs other duties as required and directed by MWR Management.Duties include but not limted to:assisting other branch sections toensure mission requirements (e.g. assisting with Entertainment productions/transportation), working different shift patterns, andcross leveling into different MWR job titles and duties when directed.
15.Significant portion of position will involve planning, organizing, and supervising various MWR activities and special projects; assists in the planning and development of programs.
16.Responsible for the overall day-to-day performance of assigned fitness facilities.
17.Leads a multinational team in providing top quality services to facility and programming patrons.
18.Position requires extensive interaction with a large customer base with the ability to handle customer issues and concerns.
19.Ensures security and accountability of both government furnished and expendable equipment/property.
20.Ensures cleanliness/serviceability of equipment and check out items.
21.Maintains quality, safety and environmental standards in compliance of company, command and Host Nation standards.
22.May be required to conduct personal training sessions and/or group fitness classes; when required to ensure compliance to the PWS.
23.Trains and develops the key skills and abilities of assigned personnel.
24.Must be willing to work on holidays, short notices, all shifts, overtime and assigned to any MWR location in Kuwait. Vacation scheduling will also be dictated by mission requirements and determined independent from spouse if applicable.
25.Performs other duties as required and directed by CSD Management.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Crossfit equipment, modalities, personal computer, laptops, scanners, printers, faxes, other network equipment and other general office equipment.Miscellaneous fitness and exercise equipment.
Works in a general office and recreational environment.However, duties will involve the conduct of work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures – up to 130 degrees in the summer months.Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist.Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas is required.Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing Protective devices.They must comply with all Fire, Safety and post policies.Normal work week is 48 hours, but must be able to work overtime or nights as required; to include, holidays.
Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to chemical/biological agents (e.g. cleaning solutions, chlorine).
Education/Certifications:One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Must possess at a minimum the Level 1 CrossFit Certification Course Certification.
Must possess and/or be able to obtain at the employee’s expense an American or internationally accredited fitness certification.
High School graduate or equivalent.CPR/AED and First Aid certification from a nationally/internationally accredited agency is required. Additional certifications as a personal trainer or group fitness instructor preferred.
Must have general knowledge base of health and fitness programs and equipment. At least 2 years customer service field experience. Past experience in planning and executing fitness and exercise events.Experience as a personal trainer or group instructor preferred, but not required.
Must exhibit strong organization and communication skills.
Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
Must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, organize workload, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must have the ability to quickly solve problems.
Must have superior organizational skills, working in a fast-paced, on-demand environment
Requires strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers.
Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgement.
Provides leadership, supervision, guidance, and direction to a multinational team in support of the MWR mission.
May have budget responsibilities (APF & NAF) in coordination with the MWR Recreation Supervisor.
