Vectrus ARMAMENT SUPERVISOR in Kuwait

Responsible for the operations of the Small ArmsRepair, which consists of maintenance personnel performing the full range ofwork involved in the maintenance, storage and security of small arms andaccessories.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1.Directs a professional teamencompassing a wide range of functions with the Arms, Maintenance and Supplydisciplines.
a.Evaluatestaff, comparing objectives and achievements in the assessment.
b.Coachesstaff on a daily basis, for training and continuous improvement.
c.Preparesperformance appraisals as required.
d.Recommendsdisciplinary actions when appropriate.
2.Maintains full accountability of all weapons anddevices stored in consolidated arms facilities and ensures high state ofphysical security IAW all applicable Army regulations and local commandpolicies.
3.Supervises and provides guidance to all levels ofrepair of military small arms for maintenance.
4.Plans work schedules, sequence of operations anddistribution of work; designates workers and assigns work; explains workrequirements, methods and procedures; instructs on new or changed procedures,and assists with resolving problems.
5.Constantly monitors repair activities to ensure allprocedures are performed safely.Immediately stops all unsafe actions.
6.Ensures appropriate safety equipment, i.e. safetyhelmets, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes, etc., isused as needed.
7.Adjust plans, assignments and methods as necessaryto accomplish work as effectively as possible.
8.Ensures that equipment and supplies are utilizedproperly.
9.Provides leadership and guidance consistent withand in support of department/corporate goals and objectives.
10.Accountablefor all assigned government furnished equipment (GFE) to include shop sets,special tools and equipment
11.Responsiblefor maintaining bench stocks and all supply actions for the storage, receipt,issue, and replenishment.
12.Performsother duties as directed.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Automated data processingequipment to include computer, printer, and other general office equipmentoutfitted with MsOffice software; secure handheld radio sets; non-tacticalvehicles.
Work is generally conducted in ashop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in theout-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited tohead, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company workrules.
Workwill require lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sittingand working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure tophysical, chemical or biological agents.
Education/Certifications: Two years related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required.
Bachelor’sdegree preferred. Requires MOS or civilian trade qualification in MOS 45B, 45Zor USMC equivalent.Successfulcompletion of a formal supervisory skills training program is required.Successful completion of a formal military orcivilian armament/small arms technical school is mandatory.
Minimumseven (7) years experience in weapons repair and arms room storage operations,with at least three (3) years of supervisor experience desired.
Musthave demonstrated supervisory skills including a professional demeanor. Musthave the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, includingtop, middle and supervisory levels of management. Strong interpersonal andnegotiation skill is required. Requires a collaborative work style, fosteringcooperation and teamwork. Must be able to exercise discretion and goodjudgment, with an ability to understand the effect of decisions overall in thecompany. Ability to handle confidential company and employee information withcomplete discretion. Must be able to prioritize responsibilities in order tohandle a demanding workload. Must have strong analytical skills, including theability to extract, compile and analyze data. Requires proficiency in Word,Excel, Outlook, and related applications. Must be detail oriented with a highdegree of accuracy. Must be able to anticipate internal client needs. Requiresability to communicate in English both verbally and written, at an advancedlevel.
